Piercing Aftercare.

Piercings are simple to care for, but aftercare is still necessary. Infection and rejection are always a risk. We educate to keep that risk as low as possible.

  1. Clean it 3-5× a dayUse Xpressions or H2Ocean aftercare. Spray on the piercing or onto a Q-tip and clean around it. Avoid alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. They can damage healthy cells and cause scar tissue.
  2. Leave the jewelry inBody piercings can take months to fully heal. Wait at least 2 months before trying to change jewelry.
  3. Hands offAvoid contact as much as possible. Touching extends healing and can cause issues. You don't need to turn or play with the jewelry.
  4. No smoking with oral piercingsThis is the most common cause of swelling and infection in new oral piercings.
  5. Good hygiene helpsPracticing good hygiene supports the whole healing process.
  6. Manage swellingIf a piercing seems swollen, use ice to bring it down. Sea salt also helps with irritation. H2Ocean is made with purified sea salt and minerals.
